Donald W. Labella
Donald W. Labella, 79, ("Bo"/"Buster") of Oceanport, formerly of Clark, passed away on Sept. 23 surrounded by family and friends.
Husband of the late Mary Grace (nee Caruso); father of Rocco and wife Diane, Veronica and husband Pete Vizzi, Marigrace and the late Donald, Jr and wife Tina.
Grandfather of Nick, Pete, Donny, Holly, Michelle, Colleen and Danny. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth La Bella and his wife Linda. Born and raised in Newark, Don moved to Clark in 1960 and then to Oceanport in 1990.
He owned and operated both Camp Drugs in Irvington and Don's Pharmacy in Clark for over 25 years, retiring in 1993. He made Clark a better place through his tireless commitment to the community as a long term town councilman and council President; President and coach of Clark Little League which named a field house in his honor; Board Member and coach of Pop Warner; founding member of the Clark Community Pool; and member of Clark Unico where he was voted Italian-American Man of the Year. He was a man of faith and proudly served as a church usher. He could often be found fishing, crabbing, boating or at the beach with his White Sands family. He loved to take cruises and to travel, especially to Acapulco and Italy.
Funeral from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave Union, NJ on Saturday at 8:30AM Funeral Mass at St. Helen Church in Westfield at 10:00AM Entombment Hollywood Memorial Park. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 6-9.
