Edward Lloyd Grotyohann, 93 of West Caldwell passed away on May 18, 2023.
He was born on March 16, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY. As a boy, Edward was interested in model airplanes and building health kit radio sets. After graduating Brooklyn Tech High School, he was drafted into the United States Army as part of the Korean Conflict. He was a trained radio operator and spent time as an instructor in Japan; and on his way to Korea, was honorably discharged due to the death of his father. In his professional life, he worked as a draftsman and ultimately as a project estimator for several engineering firms, eventually retiring from PSE&G.
As a dad, Edward shared his love of history, planes and trains with his sons and grandchildren; while supporting them in all of their pursuits. He also enjoyed family vacations with his wife and extended family members.
Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth R. Grotyohann. He is survived by his sons Robert and Roger, and their wives Wendy and Karolyn. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Lauren, Natalie, Justin and Connor.
Funeral services are private, in the care of the Galante Funeral Home in Caldwell.
