Efrain Jara, a dedicated former police sergeant with the Ecuador Transit Police for 30 years, passed away on July 21, 2024
Born and raised in Ecuador, Efrain later immigrated to the United States in 1970, initially settling in Elizabeth, NJ, before eventually making his home in Union.
After his arrival in the USA, Efrain worked as a machine operator for CD Candy Company in Union, where he dedicated another 30 years of his life before retiring 1994. His strong work ethic and commitment to his career left a lasting impact on all those around him.
Family was paramount to Efrain. He is survived by his loving children: Efrain Jara Jr., Javier Pita, Carmita Boutin; daughters-in-law Christina and Lily Claros; son-in-law Aurelio; grandchildren Michelle, Giselle, Lisette, Bridget, Alex, Genesis, and Efrain; great-grandchildren Amber, Gabriel, Mia, and Jasibel.
A visitation and prayer service will be held at Galante Funeral Home at 2800 Morris Ave in Union on Tuesday from 4 - 8 PM.
The burial service will follow the next day at Hollywood Memorial Park 10 AM. These services aim to honor and celebrate the life of Efrain Jara and offer an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects.
Efrain's legacy of hard work, dedication to family, and kindness towards others will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
