Carmela Bahr 96, of Springfield passed away April 14, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Newark, before moving to Springfield in the early 1950's for the rest of her life. Her family business, Conbahr, was started in the late 1940's by her father and she took over the operations for 70 years. Carmela was very loving of her family and friends. She loved to cook and bake and most of all, keeping her family together.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Carmela was the beloved wife to the late John Bahr, loving mother to Jeff Bahr and his wife Sharon and John Bahr and his wife Susan, sister to the late Richard and dear grandmother to Jonathan, Matthew and Jillian.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Carmela at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday April 16 from 9AM-12PM with a funeral service at 11:30AM followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover
