Elena (Helen) Vincelli

Elena (Helen) nee Memmola was born June 9, 1924 in Newark New Jersey and attended Newton Street School, and later attended Arts High in Newark for two years. As a little girl she loved going to the movies and enjoyed watching her favorite films all through her life. While teenagers, her friends including sister Antoinette, began meeting together as a "Club" and continued meeting regularly for an amazing 50 years!
While working a number of years sewing garments, Helen met and married Ralph Vincelli in 1949 at St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, Newark and celebrated 68 wedding anniversaries until her husband's death in 2017.
As a homemaker, she loved cooking and baking for her family, and had the great joy of seeing her Granddaughter Kelley grow through childhood to her marriage in 2017.
Helen attended St. Antoninus Church in Newark, Sacred Heart in Vailsburg, and was a member of St. Michael's Church in Union for many decades.
She is survived by her sister Theresa "Tessie" Gallicchio, son Ralph Jr., son Salvatore and his wife Lynn, and beloved granddaughter Kelley Gabany and her husband Chase. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Louisa (nee Vitale) Memmola, brother Pasquale "Winky" Memmola, sisters Mary Tutela, June Marino, Louise Grippaldi, and Antoinette Barone.
She especially loved hearing Psalm 23 and Psalm 91 read to her.  She is most terribly missed.
