Elizabeth "Betty" Engle

Elizabeth (Betty) Engle, (nee Mulligan), of Union, passed away on April 12, 2021.  She was pre-deceased by her husband James R. Engle, her parents Joseph and Blanche (nee Augustine), her sisters Carolyn Lieto, Doris Heath, Mary Ortuso and Shirley Ortuso, and their spouses, as well as 2 nieces and 4 nephews.  She is survived by her sons, Joseph  M. Engle (and wife Helen) and James K. Engle, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.  Betty was a former Copy Unit Supervisor for New Jersey Bell in Glen Ridge NJ for many years.  She was devoted to work at Holy Spirit Church in Union as a Eucharistic Minister and a weekly contribution counter.  She was also very active in the Rosary Altar Society and the 60 Plus Club, where she held various officer positions in both.  While her sons were in school, she was also very active in the Union Township PTA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Holy Spirit Rosary Altar Society - 984 Suburban Road Union, NJ 07083.
