Ella Marie Smith (Palumbo), 70, of Brick NJ passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023 in her home surrounded by family and friends. Born on May 6, 1953 and raised in Newark, NJ, Ella graduated East Side HS where she met Alfred, her future husband of 42 years. Thirty-seven years ago the couple moved to Brick where Ella worked for L & H Plumbing and as personal assistant to John Meyer.
Ella was a vibrant, loving, compassionate and optimistic woman and a devoted wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Always dressed in style, Ella would light up a room with her smile and fill your heart with joy with her laugh. She cherished company with family and friends over anything else. Her kindness extended to all creatures great and small as she was notorious for bringing home stray animals.
Ella is predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Catherine Palumbo (D'Alessio), sister Madeline DiTrolio (Palumbo). She leaves behind her loving niece Nicole Ford and her husband Vern, niece Julia Smith, brother-in-law Michael Smith, along with many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held May 26, 2023 at 11am at Queen of Peace Church 10 Franklin Place, North Arlington, NJ 07031. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 340 Ridge Rd., North Arlington, NJ 07031
