Emilio Novoa

Emilio Novoa, age 76, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024. 

Born in Ourense, Spain, Emilio journeyed to the United States and lived for many years in the Ironbound section of Newark before moving to Elizabeth. He began his career with the ILA Local #1804-1 in Newark before spending many years working as a dedicated longshoreman for ILA Local #1235 in Newark.

Emilio is survived by his sons, José Novoa, and his wife, Cristina; and Emilio Novoa, and his wife, Mildred; his daughter, Purifición Novoa; brothers, Jesús Novoa and Benito Novoa; and by his sister, Olivia Novoa. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Kyle and Christian.

Services are private, in the care of the Galante Funeral Home in Union.
