Esperando Powell

Esperando "Pete" Powell of Irvington passed away peacefully at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston on September 19, 2021.  The visiting will be on Friday October 1, 2021 at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave., Union from 9 AM to 11 AM with a service at 11 AM, Pastor Bob Everett officiating.

Pete as he was affectionately know is the son of the late Edward Benjamin Powell and Ezrine Brissett.  The husband of Sylvia (nee Reid).  Father of Ron Edward Arthur Powell.  Brother of Alfred Powell, Freddie Powell and Daphne Powell. Dear friend of Linton and other cherished friends and family. Also several loving nieces and nephews.

Born in Jamaica, Pete attended the University of London in England graduating in 1968 with a degree in accounting.  He retired from Tryco as a machine operator supervisor after over 30 years of service. He enjoyed photography was a talented jeweler and  gardening was his specialty having the most beautiful flowers and vegetables on the block.
