Ettore M. Vecchione Jr. 86, of Springfield, died on Monday January 6th 2014, Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday at 8:30 am. The funeral mass will be in St. James Church in Springfield at 10 am. Entombment will follow in St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Born in Newark he lived in Springfield for 41 years. He was a production manager for Emeloid Industries for 13 years  prior to that he worked for Lionel Trains. He was a member of the Sheffield Club in Newark, and a veteran of the US Army.

Ettore was the husband of the late Marie Vecchione for 45 years until she passed away in 1996. He is the father of Laura Hart and her husband Ken, Ettore and his wife Jo Ann Paul and Jill Vecchione. He is also the brother of Rose Del Vecchio, Pasquale, and the late Joseph Vecchione, as well as the grandfather of Michele Binkley, Kevin Hart, Matthew and Ettore  Vecchione IV, and is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
