Florence Graziani
With profound sadness, we announce the quiet passing at home of Florence Graziani, 93 on August 20, 2020. She was born in Newark to Nicholas and Carmela (Sisto) Gamba on January 18, 1927. She married her prince James “Jimmy” Graziani in 1949 who preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by her devoted son Joseph Graziani and his wife Elizabeth (Sullivan) of Martinsville, NJ and was absolutely cherished by her grandchildren, James and Mary. Their vacations to Disney together will forever be remembered and her Sunday visits will be sorely missed. Her many nieces, nephews, and numerous special long time family friends will always remember her as “Fethy” and as a very special lady.
Florence and Jimmy raised their son in Watchung, NJ. She then moved to Union and finally to Westfield where she met a number of new friends and enjoyed socializing, knitting, and playing cards on Saturday nights. She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and homemaker. She kept an immaculate home and was always impeccably dressed. Most of all, she loved her family and will be forever in our hearts.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Daniel, Joseph, and Angelo. Her beloved sister Rose “Nellie” Dente (Joseph) was called home at age 99 on March 31 of this year and Florence is now with all of them again.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Monday, and the funeral will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union. She will be interred at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union immediately following.
Due to Florence’s love of children, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
