Francis Gesumaria
Frank Gesumaria III of Newark, N.J. passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020 at the age of 46. Frankie was a special and caring person, full of love for others.
Born April 9, 1974, in the East Ward of Newark, Frankie grew up in Ironbound section where he graduated Lafayette Street School, East Side High School and Kean University, Union N.J. with a 4 year BA degree in Business Administration.
Frank’s career began as a Newark School substitute teacher before working for 23 years as a Program Coordinator, Special Events, at the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, 115 Clifton Avenue, Newark, N.J.
A loving individual whose priority was always his family, Frankie always took the initiative to ensure everyone was watched over everyday. Frankie always put everyone first in his life and had a special love for his two family dogs, Jake and Brody. He also had a special interest in Harness Horse Racing and recently acquired an owners license for the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority enabling him to own and race Harness Horses at the Meadowlands Racetrack and tracks in other states. He was lucky enough to be a part owner of a super harness horse “Manchego” which made him so proud and happy.
Frankie is survived by his loving parents; Frank and Carol Gesumaria; He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncle's, 1st Cousins and very close work and neighborhood friends who will miss him very much.
All are welcome to visit at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. 07083 on Thursday Oct. 22, 2020, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Newark, N.J. on Friday, Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m., entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J.
