Francisco Gennaro, 92, of Newark, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017, at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ on Thursday at 9 am. The Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Newark at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 9 pm.

Born in Spilinga Calabria, Italy, Francisco lived in Argentina for many years before moving to the Ironbound section of Newark in 1972. He was a hard working man who worked in various jobs throughout his life before retiring in 1990.  He was a member of the Spilingese Social Club.

Beloved husband of the late Caterina (nee Lazzaro) Gennaro; Loving father of Jose Gennaro and his wife Maria, and Dominga Bianchi and her husband Juan Carlos; Brother of Antonio Gennaro,  Agostino Gennaro, Maria Dotro, Caterina Dotro, Annunziata Campesi, and the late Domenico Gennaro, Giuseppe Gennaro, and Olimpia Rizzo; Grandfather of Andrew, Erica, Gabriela and her husband Andres, and Vanesa; Great Grandfather of Isabella and Lucas.
