Frankie Leta
Frankie Leta, 90, a life long resident of Irvington, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014.
The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, NJ on Thursday at 8:30 am. The funeral mass is at Good Shepherd Church in Irvington at 10 am. Interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm.
Frankie was a lifelong resident of Irvington. He was a Superintendent for the Dept. of Street and Sewers for the Twp. of Irvington over 50 years, retiring in 1992. He also had an asphalt business and was a special cop for Irvington Police Dept. working at Olympic Park directing traffic. Frankie won the Golden Gloves Championship at Madison Square Garden and had an outstanding professional career at Laurel Gardens in Newark. Frankie enjoyed playing the ponies at the Meadowlands.
Father of five, grandfather of twelve, great grandfather of eight. Frankie is the brother of the late Vincent (Jimmy), Anthony (Tony), Florence, and Dominick.
