George Habedank

George G. Habedank, 74, of Union, passed away December 31, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. on Thursday at 11AM, with visiting starting at 10AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 9 pm.

Born in Elizabeth, George lived in Linden before moving to Union until his passing. He was a dedicated special education teacher for 38 years in Piscataway, N. J. During his retirement he joined the N. J. Hi-Railers Train Club in Paterson, N. J. where he spent many wonderful years, days and hours contributing to their impressive O-Gauge layout of model trains.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth A. Habedank (nee Davino);father of  Jason G. Habedank Sr. and his wife Liliana;  grandfather of Jason G. Habedank, Jr (his pride & joy); brother of Sharon H. DeSiato and her husband George; uncle of Dr. Suzann Martin and Kevin Coyle and his wife Virginia; brother-in-law of Salvatore A. Davino and his wife Frances, and Anthony T. Davino and his wife Lucille.
