Gerardo O. Parĕs

Gerardo O. Parĕs 82, of Mountainside, N.J. passed away on Thursday February 2, 2018 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J. surrounded by his loving family.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. in Union,N.J. on Tuesday at 8:30 AM.

The funeral mass will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside at 10 AM.

Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, N.J.

Visitation  will be on Monday from 6-8 PM.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he came to Newark, N.J. in 1936, moving to Mountainside in 1979.

He was a Longshoreman, and a Checker for the International Longshoreman's Association Local # 1235 in Newark for 24 years retiring  in 1987.

He was a member of ILA Local # 1235, and also the Mountainside Senior Citizens .

Gerardo was married to his beloved wife Martha Parĕs for 55 years

and is the loving father  of Gustavo J. Parĕs and his wife Gina, and Gerard M. Parĕs.

He was predeceased by his brother Gustavo G. Parĕs
