Giovanni Colatruglio 76, of Springfield, died on Tuesday January 22 ^nd , 2013.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday at 8:30 am. The funeral mass is at St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills, at 10 am. Entombment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Short Hills. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Born in San Bartolomeo In Galdo, Province of Benevento, Italy, he lived in Caracas, Venezuela for 17 years before moving to Springfield 34 years ago. He was a self employed iron worker at John’s Iron Works in Orange for 35 years, until he retired 17 years ago. He was also a former member of the Casa Colombo Civic Organization in Millburn.

Giovanni was married to his wife Maria Grazia Colatruglio (nee Petrilli) for 51 years. he was the father of Anna Melania Romano and her husband Francesco, Salvatore and his wife Ana, Giuseppe and his companion Christina, and Alejandro Colatruglio and his wife Angela, as well as the brother of Bartolomeo Colatruglio, and is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
