Goyita Vargas

Goyita Vargas (nee Escalante), 89 of Union passed away at Cornell Hall on October 20, 2019.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Goyita at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Sunday October 27 from 3-5 PM. Cremation will be held privately.

Born in Lima, Peru, Goyita moved with her family to Newark 30 years ago before later residing in Union. Known as a very caring woman, Goyita loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Beloved by all who knew her, Goyita will also be remembered for her beautiful smile.

Goyita was the beloved wife of 75 years to the late Augusto Vargas; and loving mother of Fabian Vargas, Sandro Vargas, Sharon Delshad, Edith Vargas, Tonie Vargas, and the late Jose Mariano Vargas. She was also the dear grandmother of ten, and great-grandmother of seven.
