Grace Monto

Grace A. Monto (nee Losito), 99 of Union passed away peacefully on March 31, 2019.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Church in Union at 9:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Visitation is on Friday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

Grace was a longtime Newark resident before moving to Union in 1969. She worked with her family at their business, Arrow Fuel Company in Newark as a manager for many years, up until she was 99 years old! Sharp as could be her entire life, Grace enjoyed playing Bingo, and traveling to Aruba, which she did twice a year since 1975. Always living an active life, Grace loved going out, and enjoyed a nice glass of blackberry brandy.

Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Monto, Sr. She was the loving mother of Edward Monto, Jr., Angela Monto, Roseann Monto, and the late Frank Monto; dear grandmother of Lauren Monto, Andrea Sarris and her husband Joseph, Christopher Monto, John Spoon and Michael Spoon; cherished great-grandmother of Max Monto, Joseph Sarris, Jr., and Claudia Sarris. She is survived by her brothers Ernie, Mike and Allie Losito, and her sister Theresa Wallman. She was predeceased by her brothers Jimmy and Nick Losito, and by her sisters Rachel Trento, Eleanor Cirlincione and Rose Losito. Grace is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
