Grace Pascocello, 91 of Roseland, formerly of New York City, passed away on December 5, 2016.
A visitation will be held at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Thursday December 8 from 4-8 PM. Those wishing to attend the funeral may assemble at the funeral home on Friday at 8:45 AM, with a graveside service taking place at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY at 11:30 AM. After the interment, family and friends are invited to the repast at Butera's Restaurant at 65 E. Main St. Smithtown, NY.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Grace was a lifelong resident of New York City before moving to Roseland in 2016. She worked as a hairdresser, later working as a clerk for the Department of Unemployment, and finally serving as a secretary in the New York City Public School System until her retirement 40 years ago. Grace was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, crocheting and macrame. Also a lover of poetry, she was a firm believer in the value of education, always encouraging family members to attend college. She had many special times travelling with her husband, and caring for her Belgian Shepherd, Rex and her cat, Sandy.
Grace was the beloved wife of the late Sylvester until his passing in 2008; she was the loving mother of Francine Marino and her fiance John, and the late Pascale who passed away in 1970. She is survived by her grandchildren Patrick Marino and his wife Dana, and Lori Marino and her wife Megan; and great-grandchildren Kyla, Drew, Lena, Danny and Alexandra.
