Greg Michaels

Gregory J. Michaels, 27, of Pompton Plains, died on June 11, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Stroudsburg, PA.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 155 West Parkway Pompton Plains on Friday June 16 from 9 am - 12 noon; followed by the celebration of a funeral mass at 1 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell. The family asks that those attending not wear black to the Celebration of Greg's Life.

Greg was born on October 27, 1989, to Richard and Dottie (nee Glogiewicz) Michaels and lived in Pompton Plains for his entire life. He attended the Morris County School of Technology in Denville, NJ, graduating in 2008.

Greg enjoyed life to its fullest and could be found on a boat on Greenwood Lake, snowboarding at Mountain Creek, DJ’ing at parties and weddings or wherever his friends were having fun. A proud New Jerseyan, Greg enjoyed riding his bike all across the state from the mountains to the shore. Always the life of the party, Greg was the center of any room he entered. His appetite for action and adventure took him to every corner of the country, and involved him in enough crazy times to fill a book. A kind hearted, generous and charming soul, he was instantly loved; and was recognized by someone everywhere he went.

Greg is survived by his parents, Richard and Dottie of Pompton Plains, NJ; as well as his brother Jonathan and his wife Sarah of Takoma Park, MD; brother David and his wife Allison of Berlin, CT; maternal grandfather Chester Glogiewicz of Fern Glen, PA; paternal grandparents Maurice and Shirley Michaels of Fair Lawn, NJ; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless dear friends. Greg was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Irene Glogiewicz.

All are invited to participate in a Memorial Car and Motorcycle Ride celebrating Greg's life on Sunday June 25, 2017, beginning at 10 am from Dunkin' Donuts, 560 Route 23, Pompton Plains; going to one of Greg's favorite places, Emerald Point at Greenwood Lake.
