Harold J. Kuhefuss, 84 of West Caldwell passed away on February 21, 2017.

A Funeral Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Caldwell, 326 Bloomfield Ave. Caldwell on Monday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. Visitation is on Monday from 8-9:30 AM at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell.

Born in Brooklyn, Harold lived in West Caldwell since 1965. He earned a B.S. in Chemistry at Polytech University of NY in 1954. After serving in the army from 1954-1956, he was a chemist at Inmont Chemical Company in Clifton for 10 years. He then worked as a mailman with the US Postal Service in West Caldwell for 25 years, retiring in October 1992. Harold was a devoted member of the West Caldwell Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Caldwell. He was a volunteer with the Community Food Bank of NJ in Hillside, past deacon at the West Caldwell Presbyterian Church, and treasurer and chairman of the Mission Committee. He was involved in many ministries concerned with hunger action. For years he served refreshments to people participating in the CROP Walk. Harold headed the annual turkey drive and was a weekly server at the Clinton Avenue Presbyterian Church's soup kitchen.

Harold was the son of the late John and Marion (nee Allerich) Kuhefuss; and is the loving cousin of Edward, Richard and David Hanington, and Joan Mitchell.
