Jaime Riva 72, of the Ironbound section of Newark, passed away on Saturday September 17, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at home.

The Memorial Visitation will be on Wednesday at

The Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ

from 4 - 8 PM.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM.

Cremation will be private.

Born in Puerto Rico he lived in the Bronx, NY before moving to Newark 40 years ago.

He was a Longshoreman working through the International Longshoremen's Association Local # 1235 for 30 years, before retiring 24 years ago.

He was also a Member of ILA Local # 1235 in Newark.

Jaime is the father of Rosa Rivas, Gladys Cintron, Elizabeth Martinez, Jaime Rivas Jr. and Rafael Rivas. He was predeceased by 6 siblings, and survived by 5 siblings. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, and 8 Great Grandchildren.
