James D. Chronis

James D. Chronis 56, of Union, died on Wednesday December 11, 2013 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Wednesday at 9:30 am. The funeral Liturgy will be in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield at 11 am. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation is on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Born in Weehawkin, he lived in North Bergen before moving to Union 15 years ago. He is the former part owner of Stanley's Restaurant in Springfield for 12 years, and later on  the Cranford Diner in Cranford for 5 years.

James is the son of George and Eleftheria (nee Nossi) Chronis and is the father of Jimmy, Anthony and Victoria. He is also the brother of Helen Kardias and her husband Bill, and Olga Pharmakides.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers that you make memorials to the charity of your choice in his memory.
