James Melegh

James E. Melegh 71, of Union passed away on Monday March 21, 2016, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue Union, on Wednesday at 8:30 am. The funeral mass will be in St. James Church in Springfield, at 10 am. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in Union.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-9 pm.

Born in Passaic he lived in Newark, before moving to Union 50 years ago.

He was the owner of J.M. Electric Inc. in Union for the last 40 years. He also was a member of the Twp. of Union Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Columbia Italian American Club of Union, and the Regular Democratic Club of Union.

Jim was the husband of Rosalie Melegh (nee Vivona) for 50 years, he is the father of Mario Melegh and his wife Maria, and Claudine Pinho and her husband Michael. He also is the beloved uncle of Sherry Vivona, and the brother of Cathy Scarfone.

He  was the loving grandfather of Gianna, Alexandra, Ryan, and Isabella.
