Jane Tutela

Jane L. Tutela (nee Bogert), 89 of Roseland passed away on August 30, 2016.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Friday at 9:30 AM. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Roseland at 11:15 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange. Visitation is on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Born at St. James Hospital in Newark, Jane lived in Belleville, married in 1949, then lived in Irvington before moving to Roseland in 1980. She graduated from St. Michael's Nursing School in 1948 as a registered nurse, and went to work at St. Michael's Hospital in Newark. Mrs. Tutela later attended Jersey City State College, earning her PhD. She was a longtime school nurse at Abington Avenue School and throughout the Newark school system, retiring in 1999. After her retirement, she worked at the Montclair Child Development Center as a registered nurse from 2001-2009. She enjoyed spending time at her summer home in LBI, and her dogs Annabelle, Jazzy and Teddy.

Jane was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Tutela, Jr.; loving mother of Jane Ann Marczewski, Joseph Tutela III and his wife Nadine, Maria Tutela, Margarite Viola and Tracy Tutela; and dear grandmother of Josh Manto, Gina Viola, Gianna Tutela, Gabrielle Marczewski, Danielle Viola, Joey Tutela, Nicole Marczewski, Sal Viola, Lisa Viola, Devin Tutela and Olivia Tutela. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Bogert.
