JoAnn Basile

JoAnn Basile (nee DeVivo), 62 of Cedar Grove passed away peacefully on May 2, 2019.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Friday May 3, 2019 at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation is on Friday morning, May 3 from 9 AM until 10:30 AM.

Born in Newark, JoAnn lived in Cliffside Park, Lodi and North Caldwell before moving to Cedar Grove five years ago. Passionate about design, she worked for Sherwin-Williams in Parsippany as a home decorator specialist for many years. A huge fan of the New York Yankees, JoAnn also enjoyed trips to the shore to dine at her favorite restaurant, The Shrimp Box in Point Pleasant; day trips to Atlantic City, and could always be found attending a local tricky-tray.

JoAnn's favorite character was Tweetie Bird, who held a place near to her heart.

JoAnn was predeceased by her father Frank DeVivo. She is survived by her loving mother Josephine DeVivo (nee Gennardo); adoring son Joseph P. Basile and his fiancé Rosemarie Sandoval; her best friends who were more like sisters Michelle Payne, and Ida Marelli and her husband Dennis Gualteri. She is also survived by the father of her son Gary Basile, and by many loving nephews, cousins and friends.
