Joao J. Ramos 53, of Union died on Monday March 24, 2014 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ.

The funeral service will be in the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue  Union, on Saturday at 10 am. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Linden.Visitation will be on Friday from 5-9 pm.

Born in Cape Verde he lived in Brooklyn, NY, Newark, and Hillside, NJ  before moving to Union 10 years ago. He was a bridge painter working for Union Local # 806 in New York for 12 years.

Joao was married to his wife Judith C. (nee Andrade) Ramos for 24 years, and is the father of Erick, Elvin, Eritson, Edwin, Evaldo, Katleen, Rosana, Denise, and Lara . He is also the brother of Maria, Livia, Elsa, and Leonor, as well as the grandfather of 6 grandchildren.
