John A. Truhe

John A. Truhe 85, of Summit formerly of Union died on Monday May 6 th , 2013 at home.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Friday at 8 am. The funeral mass is at St. Michael Church in Union at 9:15 am Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 pm.

Born in Irvington he lived in Union and Barnegat before moving to Summit 3 years ago. He was the Chief of the Union Twp. Police Dept. for 33 years, until he retired in 1987. He was a member of the Destroyer Escort Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy.

John was married to his late wife Eleanor L. Truhe (nee Kubin) for 60 years until she passed away in 2009. He was the father of Christine Truhe and her husband Robert Sheehan, John Truhe Jr. and his wife Sharon, Jeff Truhe, and Bill Truhe. He was also the brother of James, the late Herbert, and Robert Truhe, as well as the grandfather of Sgt. Michael Aros-Truhe, Lauren Sheehan, Ashley Hehr, Nicole, Gina, Eric, Dana, Courtney, and Katie Truhe, and also the great grandfather of Kaylee Aros- Truhe.
