Jorge L. Torres

Jorge L. Torres, a resident of Union, New Jersey for over 37 years, entered eternal life on Saturday February 26, 2022, with his devoted family at his side. He was 70 years old.

Jorge was born in Manhattan, New York on July 26, 1951, to Maximina and Jorge L. Torres. He had lived in Jersey City for 12 years prior to moving to Union.

He was a social worker at various agencies in Jersey City, detective in the Hudson County Prosecutors Office and later served as an interpreter for Latino immigrants at Seton Hall University Law School-Newark.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years Carmen, son Jorge and his wife Mary, grandchildren Jorge R. and Annabelle, siblings Frances and Jaime, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday March 3rd, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ron Mowad Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2800 Morris Ave, Union ( located in the Galante Funeral Home building .)

The Funeral Mass will be on Friday March 4th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 970 Suburban Road, (corner of Morris Avenue) Union. For those attending the funeral please gather at the church by 9:45 a.m. Cremation will be private. Interment location of the cremated remains will be announced, at a later date.
