Jose Dominguez

Jose Dominguez of Union, NJ, passed away on October 2, 2021 at the age of 84 surrounded by his loving family.

Jose was born in La Guia, Spain to the late Ricardo Dominguez and Corona Alvarez.  He immigrated to the US in 1969 and his family settled in Newark's Ironbound section before moving to Union in 1989.  Jose was a cabinet finisher for Crincoli Woodwork for many years before his retirement. Jose was a skilled craftsman and perfectionist in everything he did.  His attention to detail was evidence of the caring, thoughtful, gentle man he was. Known lovingly as "Pepe" to his friends and family, Jose was a true Gallego at heart.

Jose enjoyed returning to his hometown in beautiful Galicia, Spain every summer.  He was a devoted, humble man who enjoyed spending time with his adoring family, gardening, cooking and travelling.

Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Julia (nee Perez Losada) and his daughter Nancy and her husband Antonio Carvalho.  Jose was the proud grandfather of Isabella and Alexander.

He was a loving brother to four sisters, Luisa, Sira, Corona and the late Maruja as well as a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Jose at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave Union, NJ on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 4 - 8 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church in Springfield, NJ on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10 AM.

Cremation will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Newark, NJ
