Jose Garcia

Jose Garcia 74, of Linden died on Monday May 28th, 2012 at St. Barnabas Medical Center.


The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Friday at 8:15 am. The funeral mass is at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mountainside at 9:30 am. Entombment is in St. Gertrude Cemetery, in Colonia. Visitation is Thursday 5-9 pm.


Born in Galicia, Spain He lived in Newark, before moving to Linden 47 years ago. He was a longshoreman for 37 years, since 1969 retiring in 2006. During that time he was employed by, & served as Sergeant at Arms for ILA Local 1235 in Port Newark.


Jose was married to his wife Alicia (nee Ogando) and was the father of Dina Nardiello and her husband John, & Connie Garcia and her husband Ramiro Martinez Jr. He was also survived by brothers and sisters in Spain, and was the grandfather of Alicia Martinez.
