Jose Lorenzo

Jose Lorenzo, a dedicated auto worker for General Motors in Linden, NJ, peacefully passed away on January 18, 2024. His remarkable career spanned over 33 years before his retirement many years ago. Jose was an active member during his career with Local UAW 595 in Linden. Additionally, he was a cherished member of Centro Orensano in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ.

Born and raised in the beautiful town of Parderrubias, Spain, Jose ventured to the United States in 1966 and settled in Elizabeth, NJ, where he soon became an integral part of the community.

Jose's warm and loving personality earned him the reputation of being an exceptional individual. As a husband, father, and grandfather, he adored his family more than anything else in the world. His devotion to his beloved wife, Dulce Maria, knew no bounds. 

A proud father to Joseph Lorenzo and a caring father-in-law to Amelia, Jose took great joy in watching his family grow and flourish. He found immense happiness in witnessing the milestones and achievements of those he loved dearly.

As a loving grandfather to Marina and Carolina, Jose valued each moment spent with his granddaughters and their presence brought immeasurable happiness into his life.

In addition to leaving an indelible mark on the lives of his family members, Jose also shared numerous lasting memories with his late brothers Manuel and Antonio. 

Jose's compassion extended far beyond the boundaries of his immediate family as he formed deep connections with friends near and far. Jose's warm smile and caring nature provided solace and comfort to anyone he met.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation and service at the Galante Funeral Home in Union on Monday from 4 - 8 PM, January 22, 2024.
