Joseph Carluccio, 93, of Union, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 1, 2015.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Church in Union at 10:15 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation is on Thursday from 4-8 PM.

Born in Newark, Joseph graduated from Central High School in 1939, from the Newark College of Engineering (NCE) in 1946, receiving a BS in Electrical Engineering, and finally from NCE in 1952 with an MS. During this time he was a member of Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society. Joseph worked for National Union Electric from 1946-1956 as an Electrical Engineer, for Air Associates from 1956-1957 as a Senior Engineer working on windshield wipers for the Howard Hughes Corporation. After this Joseph was employed by the New Jersey Institute of Technology as a Professor of Electrical Engineering from 1957-1987. He was also a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Diana (nee Cinelli); loving children Andrea Carluccio, Lorraine Lockwood and her husband Dennis; grandchildren Bryan and Gregory and his brother Frank Carluccio.

We miss you already. You are only gone a few days but you have touched our lives forever. The gifts you have given us are lasting and we will display them in your honor. . . patience, kindness, selflessness, & true love.

But most of all we will miss your smile . . .

It could not have been more appropriate that you died on All Saints Day. All of heaven is smiling now.  A new Saint has arrived!
