Joseph Ohlandt
Joseph H.Ohlandt Jr. was born January 16, 1956, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He grew up in Union City, New Jersey.
Joe joined the US Army at the age of 20, and trained as a Ranger. He was posted in the United States, in Alaska and Washington State, to name a few. He also was sent overseas to various countries, including Somalia. In Joe’s own words, he “jumped 162 times out of perfectly good airplanes!” in the course of his service to his country.
After his service ended Joe started Vital Services, an electrical contracting company. He eventually also started a publishing company specializing in books about the Freemasons, of which he was a member. Following these endeavors Joe worked as a journeyman for the IBEW local #102 as a union electrician until his retirement in 2014. Never one to sit still, Joe started his own home remodeling business.
Joe leaves behind his loving wife of only 2 years, Andrea, and her 2 children, Jennifer and Billy.
Also left behind are Andrea’s sister Michele, brother Joe, and their families.
Joe’s family includes his sister Cindy and her family, his brothers Bill and Jim and their families.
He was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be greatly missed.
