Joseph Perez

Joseph Perez, devoted father, husband, son, and brother passed away suddenly at the age of 78 on Friday August 27, 2021 at his home in Springfield, NJ.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Joe at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave, Union on Sunday from 4 - 8 PM.

A private funeral service will then be held for his immediate family.

Joe was born and raised in the Ironbound section of Newark before moving to Springfield in 1984.

He was a proud member of the International Longshoremen Association, Local 1235 in Port Elizabeth, NJ for 43 years before his retirement.

The son of Jose and Teresa (nee Vidal) Perez, Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lucille (nee Udvarhely); loving sons Joseph and Jason, and their wives Diana and Lubna; his four adoring grandchildren JJ, Nicholas, Daniel and Kasandra; and brother Tony Perez and family.

As a father and husband, Joe loved taking his family on vacations and going to every one of his grandchildren’s games.  He cherished every minute of his time spent with his family and many friends.
