Joseph Edouard Philemont was born on August 31st, 1960 in Haute-Feuilles (2em seksyon), Haiti to Severe Philemont and Mercilia (Jean-Noël) Philemont. Joseph, or Edva as many people knew him, began his schooling in Haiti where he went to St. Antoine in Gonaïves and Kolej Dei-Virtus in Port-au-Prince.
To help better support his family, Joseph moved to France from 83-84. In 1984, Joseph settled in the U.S. where he worked hard to better provide for his beloved family back home. Although seemingly quiet and to himself, Joseph loved people and was a very giving person. He always chose the opportune time to give to someone in need.
Joseph loved God’s word, the Bible. In 1988, he began studying the bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and his love for Jehovah God and bible principles allowed him to make the decision to dedicate his life through water baptism on February 4th, 1989. On August 8th, 1991, Joseph married Evelyne (Noncius) Philemont and through this union they have a daughter, Emanuela. Joseph loved his family deeply and would do anything to assure that they were ok. Even up until his last days, he spoke of the well-being of both his wife and daughter. Joseph finished his course of life on May 28th, 2022 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Marlton, NJ alongside his beloved wife.
Joseph is preceded in death by his father, Severe Philemont. He is survived by his wife, Evelyne Philemont; daughter Emmanuela Philemont; mother-in-law, Juliana Noncius; sisters: Marie Jeanne Philemont (Limage), Leanne Charles (Hagard) and Carine; brothers: Jean-Claude (Fanise), Kenol (Djermsly), Sylvestre (Miranda), Venel (Veronique), Richmond and Reginald.
