Joseph Piizzi 91, of Ocean Twp. NJ, died on Sunday June 19, 2016 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, NJ, on Friday at 9 am. The funeral mass will be in St. Raphael Church in Livingston, NJ at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum in E. Hanover, NJ. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 - 8 pm.

Born in Newark he lived in Livingston, and  Ortley Beach, NJ, before moving to Ocean Twp. 6 years ago. He was the President and CEO of Bari Construction Co. in Linden, NJ for 52 years retiring 14 years ago.

Joe was married to his late wife Rosalie (nee Di Blasi) for 57 years until she passed away in 1999. He is the father of Phyllis Savonarola, and her husband Richard, Jack Piizzi, and the late Dominick Piizzi, and is the father in law of Connie Piizzi. He is also the grandfather of Dominic, and Richard Savonarola Jr. Jaclyn Patanella, and Joseph Piizzi, as well as the great grandfather of Jack and Michael.  He was predeceased by his parents Filomena (nee Castelanata) and Dominick Piizzi, and his siblings  Jean Mosca, Connie Federico, Leonard, Pete, and Sam Piizzi.
