Joseph Rizzuto Sr. 72, of Union, died on Monday March 31, 2014 at home. The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Friday at 9 am. The funeral mass will be in St. Michael Church in Union at 10;15 am. The entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Born in Newark he lived in East Orange, before moving to Union 41 years ago. Joe loved being an umpire for The Union Little League for 17 years. He was also a veteran of the US Army serving during peacetime.

Joe was married to his wife Fontane (nee De Falco) for 44 years, and is the father of Joseph Rizzuto Jr, Michael Rizzuto, and Francine Thompson and her husband Robert. He was the brother of Thomas Rizzuto and Rose Rio. He was also the grandfather of Michael, Brian, Joseph, and Kaitlyn.
