Joseph J. Schaeffer

Joseph J. Schaeffer 93, of Union, passed away on Sunday January 14, 2018.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, N.J. on Friday at 9 am.

The funeral mass will be in Holy Spirit Church in Union at 10:30 am.

Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, also in Union.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 pm.

Born in Harrison, NJ he lived in Newark, NJ before moving to Union 70 years ago.

He was a tool maker at Hyatt Roller Bearing Corp. in Clark, NJ for 39 years, retiring 33 years ago. A veteran of  WWII serving in the US Army,

he was also a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 4504 in Union.

Joseph was married to his late wife

Rosemary R. Schaeffer (nee De Luca) for 52 years until she passed away in 2003.

He is the father of Joseph J. Schaeffer Jr, and his Fiancé Janice Granata,

and Deborah L. Huggan ,

and her late husband Thomas W. Huggan,

He is the brother of the late Matthew J. Schaefer,

and is survived by his grandchildren Kristin Huggan, Jennifer Medini, Allison Bradley,

and his great grandson Thomas Joseph Medini.
