Joseph W. Torre

Joseph W. Torre 64 of Union passed away on Monday July 25, 2016 at home.  The funeral service will be in the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue Union, on Friday at 11 am. Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, and Friday morning from 9:30 am - 11 am.

Born in Newark, he lived in Irvington, before moving to Union 38 years ago. He was a Retail Specialist for C&S Wholesale Grocers in Edison, NJ for 6 years, prior to that he was an Assistant Manager for Village Supermarkets for 17 years. He also was the owner of Joey T. Entertainment in Union for 45 years. He was a very talented singer and musician. He was a member of the Columbia Italian American Club of Union, and the Knights of Columbus Council # 4504 in Union.

Joe was married to his beloved wife Nancy (nee Rummel) for 43 years. He is the loving father of Tina Ferreira and her husband  Michael, Cheryl Calabrese and her husband Michael, and Joseph M. Torre. He was also the devoted  brother of Jo Ann De Michael, and Marge Torsiello, as well as the cherished grandfather of Audrina, and Alexa.

He was predeceased by his parents the late Joseph Torre, and the late Marie (nee Ollo) Torre.
