Joseph P. Ventre 94, of Union, N.J. passed away on Friday July 22, 2016 at home. The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Tuesday at 9 am. The funeral mass will be in St. Michael Church in Union at 10:15 am. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park also in Union.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 pm.

Born in Newark, N.J. he lived in Union for 23 years. He was a letter carrier for the US Post Office in Newark for 29 years, retiring 39 years ago. A veteran of the US Army Air Corps. serving during WWII reaching the rank of Technical Sergeant, he was also a member of the Union Twp. Senior Citizens Club.

Joe was married to his late wife Mary (nee Giordano) for 67 years until she passed away in 2015. He is the brother of Diana Nuzzo, Carmine Ventre and his wife Faye Killgrew, and the late Ralph Ventre, and his late wife Pauline (nee Swiatkowski). He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and great nephews.
