Josephine Genevrino

Josephine D. Genevrino, 91 of Springfield passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024. Born in Newark, Josephine was a longtime Springfield resident. She was a dedicated homemaker, who treasured time spent with her family. She was loved by all who knew her and devoted her life to others. 

The faithful daughter of the late Anthony and Alice (Marmo) DiChiara, Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Richard D. Genevrino; loving mother of JoAnn Sarracino and her husband Bruno, and the late Richard A. Genevrino; dear grandmother of Jennifer Randazzo and her husband Perry, and Angela Sarracino. She was the cherished sister of Florence Marrafino and her husband Louis, Anthony DiChiara and his wife Kathleen, Carmine DiChiara and his wife Dorothy, and the late Rose Masino and her husband, the late Albert and the late Mary Slattery and her husband, the late James. She is also survived by her beautiful great-grandchildren Joella Rae Randazzo and Rex Bruno Randazzo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass for Josephine at St. James Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave. Springfield on Tuesday September 10 at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit. Arrangements are in the care of the Galante Funeral Home in Union.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
