Josephine Joan Vance

Mrs. Josephine Joan Vance (nee Lombardino), of Springfield, New Jersey, died on February 26^th, 2023, due to natural causes. She was 82 years old.

Born in East Orange, she grew up in Maplewood, graduated Columbia High School in 1958, and raised her son there. She moved to Springfield in 1992.

Josephine was a communicant of St. James the Apostle Church where her funeral mass will be held.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, New Jersey on Friday March 3^rd from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.

Josephine worked for Public Service Bus Company and their Union and Credit Union until 1992.  From 1992 until 2003 she was Assistant to the comptroller of Ardry Trading Company in Morris County.  

She was predeceased by her parents Matthew and Elizabeth (nee Genna), her husband Edward Vance, Sr. (1978), and her sister Maria Lombardino (1999).

She is survived by her beloved son, Edward Jr., his wife Karla, grandson Nicholas Matthew of Savannah, Georgia and her numerous cousins and friends all of whom she was extremely close to, and her niece Catherine Giuliano Kazan (Nabil) and nephew Edward Giuliano (Patty).

Josephine will be remembered for always giving of herself, her delicious cooking, and great sense of humor. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and playing board games especially scrabble and Rummikub. She loved long car rides, but most of all, she loved being with her family and devoted friends. She will be missed by them all.
