Loving Grandmother, Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt and friend to all died peacefully with her children
around her on October 25, 2022. Karen had many careers in her life but her passion was for her children
and grandchildren. There was never a holiday, birthday or special occasion that Karen failed to
celebrate. Her ability to welcome all to her home was legendary and regardless of your relation she
made you feel like family. She was a talented gemologist and entrepreneur who was sought out for her
knowledge by customers for over 30 years. Her enjoyment of poker extended to the felt at various
casinos where she enjoyed watching and outsmarting other players.
Karen was our center and our teacher, our mother and our mentor and the one who we always knew we
could count on. We take solace in the knowledge that she raised her children and grandchildren with
the same spirit and energy she lived her entire life with. Karen is survived by her husband Alex; her
children and their spouses Ernie and Jodi, Monica and Federico and Caterina and Max; her grandchildren
Joey, Dominic and Giuseppe and her siblings and spouses Donald and Nancy.
Karen is predeceased by her children Joseph and Jacqueline and her sister Barbara.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation for Karen on Thursday, October 27, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union. A Cryptside Service will be celebrated at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield on Friday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m.
