Katharine E. Mitchell (nee Henderson) 100, of Little Egg Harbor died on Thursday December 19, 2013 .

The visitation will be in the Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor N.J. 08087 on Sunday from 1-5 pm  The funeral services will be held during the visitation.  The interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa  on Monday. To send condolences visit galantefh.com.

Born in Piqua, Ohio she lived in Paterson and then moved to Manchester 20 years ago. She was a supervisor at Stern's  Department Store in  Paterson for 20 years, retiring many years ago.

Katharine was the wife of the late Anthony (Tony) Mitchell and the late George Layer. She is the mother Regina Gourley and her husband Joe, Veronica Layer-Keefe and her husband Tom, the stepmother of John and Steven Mitchell. She is also the grandmother of Tracey, Shauna, Brian, Stevie, Harley, Jessie and the late Kevin, as well as the great grandmother of Cassidy and Melissa.
