Katherine MacArthur nee Popola. ("Nee" means "formerly", in case you went to East Side) shuffled off her mortal coil on February 25, 2024. She had some issues, and they all came to collect at the same time. What're ya gonna do. But she's definitely in a better place now, no more pain or struggle. So that's a good thing. Kathy (or Kath, or Ratzerine) leaves behind her loving husband, Donald MacArthur, as well as her brother Allen Panila, her other brother Pasquale Popola, and her other brother Matthew Popola, and their wives and yadda yadda.. She also leaves a profound impression upon her nieces, Allison Panila, Lisa Panila Shorter, and Celeste (The One With Talent) Popola. There are many other Honorary Nieces and Nephews, because she was always "Aunt Kathy".
Hailing from Newark, Kathy moseyed her way to Harrison, NJ, for a bit (that place rocked), before moving to Kendall Park, which is completely unremarkable, except there was a pool. Time soon found her back in Newark, because everyone comes back to Newark, before settling in Lakewood, close to the beach, which she hated. Go figure. And that's where her story ended. But does the story ever really end?
ANYWAY, there will be a viewing on Thursday, February 29 at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union NJ, from 4pm to 8pm. Get there early for ice cream. Let's come together and celebrate the Life of this remarkable daughter/sister/cousin/confidant/friend. Let's tell some stories. She was a real piece of work, and we were all fortunate to have Kathy in our lives.
