Laura  Sobral

Laura, 94, died March 9, 2015 at St. Barnabas Hospital, Livingston, NJ after a brief illness.

Born in Fall River, MA her parents returned to Portugal when she was a teenager and she lived there until she met and married Antonio Sobral. She returned to the United States with him and
settled in Elizabeth, NJ until she moved to Union, NJ. She worked as a seamstress in clothing factories for many years. She later owned and operated Laura's Novelty Shop in Elizabeth, NJ from the early 1960' s until her retirement in the late 1980' s.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie and husband Rick Ogin, son, Anthony and wife Sally Sobral, grandchildren, Eric Peltier and wife Vanessa Spiegel, Jeannette Peltier and husband Jason Saar, Lori Sobral and John and wife Laura Sobral, Great Grandson Anthony John Sobral and her sister Tina DaCosta.

Funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue Union, N.J. on Monday at 9 am. The funeral mass will be in St. Michael Church in Union at 10:15 am. Entombment will follow in Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, N.J. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6 pm.
