Leida M. Vazquez, 83 of Bloomfield passed away peacefully on September 12, 2021.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Leida at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday September 16 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Friday September 17 from 5 - 9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Valentine's Church in Bloomfield on Saturday at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Leida moved to the United States in 1966, and was a longtime Bloomfield resident. She earned a degree at Havana University, Montclair State University, as well as an Associates degree from Bloomfield College in computer science. After working for Stevens, Leida was an assembler at RCA, and finally worked for 26 years at NJ Bell as a clerk, statistical typist and finally a service analyst until her retirement in 1994. Leida loved to travel, enjoyed frequent shopping trips and was always dressed to impress.
Leida was the beloved wife of the late Enrique Vazquez; and loving mother of Enrique Vazquez, Jr. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Lilita.
