Lelo Silva

Lelo M. Silva, 64 of Newark passed away at home on August 25, 2017.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Tuesday August 29 at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Newark at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation is on Monday from 5-9 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Tomar, Portugal, Lelo was an Ironbound resident since 1984. He worked as an automotive painter and body man at Santos Auto Body on South Street in Newark for many years. He was an avid, lifelong collector who always found something new to bring home.

The son of Rosa Ferreira and the late Raul Santos, Lelo was the beloved husband of Ana M.; loving father of Ricardo Santos and his wife Maria Daniela Santos, and Carina Santos and her fiance Jarett Makara; grandfather of Mariana and Miguel; and brother of Jose Santos and his wife Gloria. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
